A Single Black Crow by Mitchell Waldman

A single black crow
sitting on a wire
shivering in the rain
feathers blowing
in the icy breeze
beak raised
eyes searching the skies
through the mist for
a shadow
a glimpse
of a passing,
comforting wing.
