Verb. To ring, to blare. Birds also use the verb squillare
because they make a certain sound. Una ragazza squillo, however,
is not a girl who makes a certain sound, but a prostitute. That’s a
different sound than a bird. Although, if you’ve read any Catullus,
you would know that it’s not actually all that different.
