Embers by Antonia Alexandra Klimenko

Leave the light on   you said
You   with one foot out the door
You weren’t one for long goodbyes
though in truth   you wanted more
                                                         more

More of this   less of that
Spring came   Winter passed
We tiptoed in the dark
Our house was made of glass

Home   is never where you leave it
Earth keeps turning turning  round
Sometimes you gotta get lost
you said
in order to be found

Life moves on    from room to room
Death   rarely waves goodbye
Tell me
what are the chances
we make it out alive?

Home   is where   i am going
               is where    I am from
I light my candle at both ends
Lord knows   we are all One

Sometimes in deep September
I still wait for your return
Forgiving      forgetting
you were my one   slow   burn
